Virginia LULAC Highlights Historic Nationwide Election Protection Operation Led by National LULAC
Through the historic Vamos a Votar coalition, civil rights attorneys, legal professionals, and community advocates are joining forces to protect voting rights during the November 3, 2026, midterm elections.
Virginia LULAC is proud to highlight and spread the word from our parent organization, the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), as it launches one of the country's largest election protection operations on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from its National Office in Washington, D.C.
This historic national effort brings together civil rights attorneys, litigators, policy professionals, and law firms from across the United States to identify voting-related problems, protect eligible voters, and respond rapidly to potential threats against the fundamental right to vote.
The operation is part of Vamos a Votar, a nationwide coalition uniting LULAC, UnidosUS Action Fund, Mi Familia Vota, and Latino Victory under a coordinated strategy to strengthen Latino civic participation and protect voting rights across the country.
Virginia LULAC recognizes the importance of this initiative and encourages communities throughout the Commonwealth to become familiar with the resources available to voters who encounter intimidation, discrimination, or difficulties exercising their rights.

A Historic Coalition for Latino Civic Participation
Vamos a Votar represents a major milestone in Latino civic engagement, bringing together four nationally recognized organizations to coordinate resources, community outreach, voter education, and election protection efforts.
On October 15, 2026, the coalition announced a combined investment of $22.1 million toward voter engagement and protection, with the goal of reaching more than five million Latino voters.
The coalition's strategy includes voter registration, community organizing, digital voter resources, direct outreach, and legal assistance.
Rather than working independently, participating organizations are combining their expertise and resources to strengthen coordination across multiple states and communities.
This collaborative approach reflects the importance of sustained investment in Latino civic participation and ensuring that eligible voters have access to accurate information and appropriate assistance.
A Nationwide Network of Civil Rights Attorneys
On Election Day, LULAC's National Office in Washington, D.C., is serving as the center of a coordinated legal effort involving attorneys and policy professionals from across the nation.
The operation brings together individuals experienced in civil rights law, litigation, election administration, and constitutional protections.
This network is intended to help identify emerging voting concerns and connect reported incidents with professionals capable of assessing potential legal violations.
The initiative also builds upon LULAC's ongoing legal advocacy involving voting rights and election administration.
Among these efforts is litigation challenging federal immigration enforcement policies concerning the presence of armed federal agents at polling places. LULAC and its partners have argued that such policies could intimidate eligible voters and interfere with the exercise of voting rights.
These cases illustrate the importance of legal advocacy and accountability in protecting access to elections.
Virginia LULAC Stands in Support of Voting Rights
Virginia LULAC remains committed to advancing civil rights, civic education, and equal participation throughout the Commonwealth.
As part of the national LULAC organization, Virginia LULAC recognizes that protecting the right to vote is fundamental to ensuring that communities have a meaningful voice in the democratic process.
Virginia is home to diverse Latino communities whose contributions strengthen the Commonwealth's economy, culture, and civic life.
Ensuring that eligible voters understand their rights and know where to seek assistance is an important part of strengthening public confidence in elections.
Virginia LULAC encourages voters throughout the Commonwealth, including those in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Hampton Roads, and communities across the state, to familiarize themselves with available election protection resources.
Voting rights are civil rights, and every eligible voter deserves the opportunity to participate without unlawful intimidation, discrimination, or interference.
This commitment extends beyond any political party, candidate, or individual election.
How to Report a Voting Rights Violation
Virginia LULAC encourages individuals who experience or witness potential voting-related problems to use the official Vamos a Votar voter incident reporting system.
The online reporting platform allows voters and community members to describe incidents, identify where and when they occurred, and provide relevant information for review.
Individuals may submit reports involving their own experiences or concerns affecting others in their communities.
Reports are reviewed by trained volunteers and attorneys working with LULAC's voter protection operation. Concerns requiring additional legal attention may be escalated for further review.

Building a Stronger Future Through Civic Participation
The launch of LULAC's national election protection operation represents an important continuation of the organization's nearly century-long commitment to civil rights.
Since its founding in 1929, LULAC has worked to challenge discrimination, expand educational and economic opportunities, and protect the rights of Latino Americans.
Through Vamos a Votar, LULAC and its coalition partners are continuing their work by combining legal advocacy, community engagement, voter education, and modern technology to address barriers to voting.
Virginia LULAC is proud to help amplify this important national initiative and share these resources with communities throughout the Commonwealth.
As Americans participate in the November 3, 2026, midterm elections, protecting the rights of eligible voters remains essential to maintaining an accessible, fair, and accountable democratic process.
Virginia LULAC stands alongside National LULAC in reaffirming that every eligible American deserves to exercise their right to vote freely, safely, and without intimidation.
